It is important to take time to become familiar with the structure of CIE, its syllabuses and examinations.  Because of its flexibility and breadth - key strengths of CIE - there is also a lot of detail to grasp before a student's course is planned.  This booklet explains how CIE examinations are implemented at Carey College.

Click on the booklet to view it full-page; use the arrows (right and left) to turn the pages; press "Esc" to return to this page.

Our Cambridge Guide (above) explains how Cambridge International Examinations work at Carey College.  For more general questions about CIE, Ask CIE is CIE's own site with answer to their Frequently Asked Questions.  It is a good place to start looking for help.
Percentage Uniform Marks are the way in which Cambridge reports performance within a grade. For example, candidates with a grade B will have uniform marks in the range 70-79. A candidate with a uniform mark of 77 has achieved a good grade B, closer to grade A than to grade C. Uniform marks are therefore calculated from - but are not the same thing as - the number of marks a candidate has been awarded in the examination.
